Hightower Insurance Agency has been serving individuals and businesses in South Carolina, including Greenville, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Travelers Rest, Fountain Inn, Anderson, Spartanburg and the surrounding communities since 1957.
Our agency specializes in the personal lines arena, with home insurance and auto insurance and are also proficient with small business insurance, specializing in landlord policies.

A little history about how we came to be
I started my insurance career back in 1993 in St Petersburg, FL with Allstate Insurance Company working in their central claims reporting unit. This proved to be a great experience to help lay the foundation for my career in the insurance industry. This was where I was introduced to the world of claims, and it’s what raised my interest in taking what would be my next step in the industry.
A few years after working for Allstate, my wife was transferred with her company to Orlando, FL. At the time, Allstate did not have any positions open so I switched companies and started working for Travelers Insurance Company, in their commercial claims reporting unit. Since my previous experience with Allstate was all on the personal lines side I was excited to enter the business side of the insurance world.
Working in this division peaked my interest in becoming an adjuster. I then transferred out of the commercial reporting to Travelers’ personal lines division handling small auto claims. Here I learned the very basics of claim handling and I learned to read and explain damage estimates that were written by our outside adjusters. I quickly became efficient in the handling of small claims and in addition to the auto claims, I was also given responsibility for handling small homeowners claims. I discovered property claims was where my passion was at. Helping people put their home back together after a claim was very satisfying. Soon I found myself being trained at schools for estimating in Texas and Servpro’s facility in Tennessee. I learned to estimate and measure roofs and also learned many of the techniques used in fire, smoke and water restoration.
Soon after this, my wife’s job transferred us again to Greenville, SC. This move would set in motion my experience on the agency and marketing side of the insurance world. Before purchasing Hightower Insurance Agency back in January of 2018, I was a territory marketing manager for a Managing General Agency called U.S. Insurance Services. I was the manager for the entire state of South Carolina and the eastern part of North Carolina. That division was bought out by another MGA and that is what ultimately led me to purchase Hightower Insurance Agency.
